Wang Jiang
Wangjiang Subdistrict, located in Shangcheng District, Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province, is situated in the northeastern part of Shangcheng District, bordering Sijiqing Subdistrict in Jianggan District to the east. It faces Xingxing Subdistrict in Binjiang District across the Qiantang River along the central line of the Qiantang River. It is adjacent to Ziyang Subdistrict to the south and southwest along Wangjiang Road and Wangjiang East Road. It is connected to Tiesha River and Xiaoying Subdistrict to the west and northwest, and it borders Caihe Subdistrict in Jianggan District to the north. The total area of the administrative area is 4.81 square kilometers. At the end of 2011, the total population of Wangjiang Subdistrict was 64,881, with an additional floating population of 42,700. In 1954, Wangjiang Subdistrict was established under Jianggan District. In 1966, it underwent modifications and became Wangjiang Subdistrict again. In 1980, it was divided into Wangjiang Subdistrict and Kaixuan Subdistrict. In 1997, it was transferred to Shangcheng District, and in April of the same year, Jinjiang Subdistrict was established. In June 2003, Jinjiang Subdistrict was merged into Wangjiang Subdistrict. As of October 2021, Wangjiang Subdistrict has jurisdiction over 11 communities. The subdistrict office is located at 151 Qujiang Road, Jinjiang West Garden. At the end of 2011, Wangjiang Subdistrict had 986 commercial establishments. The total sales volume of social commodities reached 2.498 billion RMB, an increase of 27.7% compared to the previous year. The total turnover of urban and rural markets was 7.606 billion RMB, a decrease of 0.8% compared to the previous year. In 2011, the total import and export volume of Wangjiang Subdistrict was 67.55 million US dollars, with exports amounting to 56.52 million US dollars. The main products include clothing and textiles, among others.
