Wenyan

Wenyan Subdistrict is located in the western part of Xiaoshan District. It is situated at the confluence of the Qiantang River, Fuchun River, and Puyang River. It is bordered by Chengxiang Subdistrict and Shushan Subdistrict to the east, the Qiantang River to the west, Yiqiao Town to the south, and Binjiang District to the north. It faces the downtown area of Hangzhou across the river, enjoying convenient water and land transportation. Historically, it has been known as the "triple river activity dock" and was one of the first satellite towns in Zhejiang Province to implement external opening-up. The Wenyan Subdistrict Office is located at No. 3368 Xianghu Road. It covers an area of 26.75 square kilometers and administratively governs six villages and five residential communities, with a population of 70,000 people. On July 29, 2020, the National Healthcare Commission decided to designate Wenyan Subdistrict as a National Hygienic Township for the period of 2017-2019.
